"You Can Turn Off The Sun But I'm Still Gonna Shine"

Flowers from Mom, Dad, and Ed...I feel so loved :)

There are a lot of really yucky days in England.  Sometimes it's so cloudy and rainy all the time that you really genuinely miss the sun.  Even though I am studying to be a meteorologist, one thing I still can't do is control the weather.  So I have thought of a new alternative...I have surrounded myself with amazing people that brighten my day so much, I don't even need the sun.  As much as I love everyone in my life, this week has been so great thanks to three people in particular...Melissa, Ed, and Kayley.

Melissa and I in Tower Bridge

Love her!
Melissa flew all the way from Italy just to spend the weekend in England with me.  She and I are going to be living together when we both get back to Norman in the fall and I am so, so excited. Our weekend was actually pretty relaxing, but really fun.  The first night she was here, we had some drinks down at the bar with some of my flatmates.  We spent the whole next day in London even though it was a really cold, rainy, windy day.  We went up in Tower Bridge, to the British Museum, to the only Chipotle in Europe, and then for a bit of a night out in SoHo.  It was just so great to have one of my best friends here in England with me.  She came at just the right time because I was really starting to miss being around people who just got me.  There were so many times where Ed would be like "Wow...you guys really are friends!" She is one of the best and I am so happy she came to visit me.

Haha I just love this picture
This week was a big change for me...I finally agreed to be Ed's girlfriend.  Although it really wasn't a surprise to anyone, I was really apprehensive at first because I knew I would only be here for a few months.  I never intended on falling for someone while I was here, but sometimes you just have to follow your heart. But now that it's the real deal...I couldn't be happier :) I know it may seem a little crazy, but it's been a long time since something has made so much sense to me.  We are just enjoying the time we have together now and worrying about all the rest later. I hope my friends and family get the chance to meet                                                                                            Ed, I know they will all just love him.

Me and Kayley :)
I also got a chance this week to spend more time with my lovely friend Kayley.  Kayley is just one of those people that we instantly clicked since the first day we got here.  It is so wonderful to have someone to talk to that shares a lot of the same beliefs as I do and is really strong in her faith as well. Friends like Kayley remind you that God sends angels with you everywhere you go.  I am so sad that Kayley is going back to OU so soon, but I am so excited for her as well because I know she has a lot to look forward to back in Norman.

I feel like I'm on top of the world here!
Every day I wake up feeling like the luckiest girl in the world.  I don't know what I did to deserve this life, but I'm sure not going to question it.  I have the most wonderful family and friends in the entire world and I have more blessings than I could ever imagine. So who needs the sun...I'm still gonna shine. :)
